About The Name

Where did "Tiptoeing on the Edge of Verisimilitude" come from?

Several years ago, I submitted a manuscript to the Writer's Edge (a service I would recommend you explore, if Christian fiction is your thing). While the anonymous publishing professional who reviewed my work returned a number of favorable comments, and considered the project marketable, he/she cautioned that the narrative, at times, "tiptoed on the edge of verisimilitude."

Verisimilitude:  The appearance of being true, real, or probable.

I understood the reviewer's warning--the reader of fiction needs to believe, on some level, in order to engage with the story--but I also loved the phrase, and knew instantly that I would find a use for it someday.

Taken in its positive sense, the phrase holds multiple layers of meaning for me...about the journey of life, the journey of writing, the journey of faith.

The Edge of Verisimilitude...For me, it feels like an adventurous place to be.
